Foods that Cause Constipation
With today's frantic pace it's not hard to find the foods that cause constipation. Most of you have a lifestyle that is usually bordering on hectic if not chaotic and you probably don't take the time - or have the time - to prepare a healthy meal three times a day.
Does this sound familiar to you? Wake up in the morning and grab a cup of coffee and maybe a pre-packaged muffin, breakfast bar or a breakfast sandwich from the local fast food shop. At lunch time it's off to the pizza parlor or fast food restaurant or maybe you packed a sandwich with some chips.
For dinner it's meat and potatoes, vegetables (canned?) and maybe a salad. In between meals there are more foods that cause constipation - soda, more coffee, other drinks and snacks filled with sugar.
Foods that cause constipation have an appeal that many people can't resist - they are sweet, salty, or fried and easy to eat on the run. The fact is they are not healthy.
What Foods Cause Constipation?
If you recognize the scenario in the first three paragraphs then you can probably guess what foods cause constipation. Too much coffee, the prepackaged sugar-laden and processed breakfast bars or muffins; how about the cheeseburger and french fries or pizza for lunch; and then you have meat again (steak, chicken you name it) and finally some vegetables for dinner.
Too much meat, dairy products like cheese and ice cream, sugary foods or drinks and processed foods like TV dinners and other meals that come in a frozen tray or bag are foods that cause constipation. Sure, these meals are convenient but they wreak havoc on your digestive system.
Foods That Do Not Cause Constipation
You need to start eating more high fiber foods such as fresh vegetables like broccoli and asparagus, fresh fruit such as apples, pears and grapes, whole grain breads and cereals. You should also eat more beans, not baked beans, but cans of beans that you can add to salads or to a nice homemade soup.
Constipation remedies include foods that do not cause constipation.

But your body can't do it all.
When you're ready to cleanse your body of toxins and undigested food, then you're ready to take the next step in colon cleansing. Keep in mind that colon cleansing isn't for everyone – only for those who want optimal health.
